Superman Returns!

After weeks of waiting, I finally caught the elusive Clark Kent slipping into the hall closet only to emerge as Superman- a good 15 minutes later (not exactly super speed). And...he's off. Probably to find someone else who needs rescuing because, no doubt the last person didn't survive Superman's lengthy changing session. Oh well, maybe Spider Man came to the rescue instead. Rumor has it he's recently been spotted in the area.

My Fisrt and Last Camping Trip this Summer

I was finally brave enough to try camping with Ben. It wasn't something that I wanted to do this summer for fear that I would be up all night with a crying baby. It went over better than I thought, but I don't think I'll try it again until next summer.
He was a very cheerful baby given the small amount of sleep he was running on. I think I'm finally starting to accept that he just runs on less sleep than the average child.

We went with Freddy (Jason's brother), his wife Laurie and their daughter Sophie. We camped up Spanish Fork Canyon. It was a really nice area. The boys hiked up to the hot pools on the second day. They really enjoyed that. They also spent quite a bit of time fly fishing and even caught a few! Overall, it was a fun and successful trip.

Sleep Walking?

I was working on the computer last night when Spencer woke up. He came running from his room doing the "potty dance". I urged him to run upstairs to the bathroom and returned to my work. Suddenly, I hear the sound of water behind me. Since we have no bathroom downstairs, this is a problem. I ran to the stairs and found Spencer relieving himself at the bottom stair. My shouting for him to stop was only met with a blank stare. When he was finished he made his way back to bed without a word.
This morning he had no recollection of it. I guess I can't hold him responsible. Anyway, I've become a pro at cleaning up urine becuase honestly, he doesn't do a whole lot better hitting the mark when he's awake.

Salsa Season!

'Tis the Season! Well, almost. Soon, I will be slaving over a hot stove making endless batches of salsa. As you can see from the picture, our little tomato plants have turned into one huge tomato hedge. We also have cucumbers, yellow and zuchini squash, corn, eggplant (Jason's idea) and many many varieties of peppers. After crawling through "the hedge" on my hand and knees this morning, I found our first ripe tomoatoes-2 grape tomatoes! I know, it doesn't sound lik much, but before long, we'll be begging people to take them from us.
